| Go-Karts
are state-of-the-art driving machines,
which are about 2 meters long and
1.2 meters wide, with base height
from ground being just about 4 inches.
They weigh around 100 kgs and come
fitted with auto-transmission gears.
The 180-cc engines, manufactured by
Honda, Japan, are environment friendly
and can give upto 6 bhp.
The karts have single disk brakes
and the braking is linear. The tyres,
which drive these karts, are especially
imported, slickless, racing-category,
tubeless tyres. They come equipped
with an electronic scorecard that
informs the driver of his lap time,
speed and other such details. Depending
on the length of the track, these
karts could be accelerated to speeds
upto 100 kph.
Considering their low base heights
and maximum speeds at this level,
go-karting is certainly no meat
for the meek-hearted! The go-karts,
which are used at international
go-karting championships, can
even drive up to 200 kph!

Go Karting
comes with a choice of two race formats:
Endurance Race
Endurance events are ideal for groups
with mixed experience. This format means
that tactical choices and teamwork are
more important than individual glory.
Each team has the option to decide how
often to change drivers within the time
period. Grand Prix
The Grand Pix is a very popular event
for novices and experienced drivers
alike, where individuals compete in
a series of races, with a chance to
qualify for the grand final, and a place
on the podium.
All the meetings begin with a professionally
delivered safety briefing, after which
drivers are able to familiarise themselves
with the track and karts in a practise
session prior to racing.
The format is usually as follows:
5 Laps practise
4 heats of 4 laps
1 semi-final of 4 laps
7 laps final for top drivers |
